About you:

Ideally you will have: 

  • Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or similar, or equivalent experience in a comparable role. 

  • Contemporary experience in water and sewer services. 

  • Contemporary knowledge and experience in the operation and management of a range of large and small plant required for plant and equipment maintenance, including risk management, WHS obligations and contract management.  

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop staff consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values – Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Delivery.  

  • Demonstrated understanding and competence in contemporary risk management and Work Health and Safety principles and practice. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation such as reports, presentations and procedures. 

About your new role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to join our Utilities team. In this role you will: 

  • Coordinate and report on the Water & Sewer team contribution to the annual Operational Plan, other relevant strategies and plans, supporting achievement of service and project delivery targets and timely reporting of service performance.   

  • Monitor the Water & Sewer team budgets, supporting cost effectiveness, achievement of budget targets, delivery of savings and innovations, and accurate reporting of budget performance.  

  • Manage levels of service, intervention levels and asset inspections as programmed and have input into ongoing development of maintenance regimes and asset plans.   

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellence that supports effective utilisation of Council’s resources. 

  • Lead, develop and coordinate the Water & Sewer team in a way that is consistent with Council’s values, policies and systems.
