The current Alcohol Free Zones (AFZ) will expire on Wednesday, 19 September 2018. Council is proposing to re-establish the existing AFZ.
The AFZ will apply to all public roads and public carparks in an area bounded by the following streets:
• Maher Street from Butler Street to Russell Street
• Russell Street from Whitelock Street to Poictiers Street
• Poictiers Street from Russell Street to Napier Street
• Napier Street from Poicitiers Street to Harfleur Street
• Napier Street from Harfleur Street to Harrison Street
• Harrison Street from Napier Street to Wellington Street
• Duncan Street from Wellington Street to Crispe Street
• Crispe Street from Duncan Street to Wick Street
• Crispe Street from Wick Street to End Street
• End Street from Crispe Street to Memorial Drive
• Memorial Drive from End Street to Sanctuary Lane
• Sanctuary Lane from Memorial Drive to Wellington Street
• Cressy Street from Wellington Street to Edwardes Street
• Edwardes Street from Cressy Street to George Street
• George Street from Edwardes Street to Napier Street
• Napier Street from George Street to Charlotte Street
• Charlotte Street from Napier Street over the National Bridge into Davidson Street finishing at Herriott Street
• Charlotte Street from Napier Street to Hardinge Street
• Hardinge Street from Charlotte Street to Whitelock Street
• Whitelock Street from Hardinge Street to Russell Street.
The proposed AFZ is on public exhibition from Friday, 17 August until the close of business on Monday, 17 September 2018.
