Adam McSwain

Adam joined Edward River Council as General Manager in March 2017, after holding senior management roles within the Victorian local government sector, including as Director Planning and Development at Swan Hill Rural City Council and Manager Economic and Community Development at Hepburn Shire Council.

As General Manager, Adam is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of Edward River Council and all staffing matters. In addition to the day-to-day management of Council, Adam provides strategic advice to the Mayor and Councillors and ensures the decisions and policies of the elected Council are properly implemented.

Adam is currently a board member of Murray Regional Tourism and a member of the Regional Development Australia (RDA) Murray Committee. He has had previous experience across a variety of boards, including YMCA Victoria, AFL Goldfields Commission, and Daylesford and Macedon Ranges Regional Tourism.

Adam holds undergraduate degrees in Applied Science and Management from the University of Ballarat, as well as a Master of Business Administration and Master of Politics and Policy, both from Deakin University. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
