Deniliquin Swim Centre Official Opening

Published on 27 November 2019

The $1.56 million Deniliquin Swim Centre Revitalisation has been completed with the venue officially opening this Friday, November 29. The project was funded through the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund and Stronger Communities Fund.

The works undertaken included resurfacing of the main pool, new tiling, solar installation to the learner’s pool, an all abilities amenities facility refurbishment and plantroom upgrades. The project also included the water splash park which was opened last year.  The main contractors who worked on the project were Farley Pools and Precise Build.

Edward River Council Mayor Norm Brennan said that to have the facilities upgraded at the Swim Centre was a major boost for the whole community for the Summer period.

“It took a great deal of work by a lot of dedicated Council staff and outside contractors, but I think the results speak for themselves,” Cr Brennan said.

“Creating a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages to come and either learn to swim or get some great exercise in the pool is what is intended by these works.”

“Regional swimming pools bring the community together and teach children lifelong water safety and survival skills.”

“It will be great to see as many people as possible come along to the official opening on Friday at 4pm and take a look around the new facilities on offer.”

The official opening will showcase the refurbished facilities with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a free community sausage sizzle.

Deniliquin Outdoor Pools are also offering free admission to the facility for the day to encourage patrons to celebrate the opening.
