Edward River Council Community Grants now open

Published on 13 July 2018

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations delivering projects which involve and benefit the Edward River community are invited to apply for funding for 2018/19 through Council’s Community Grants Program.

Applications open today, Friday 13 July, and will be open for five weeks.

Projects which will deliver achievable, innovative and beneficial outcomes that align with Council’s Strategic Plan, Edward River 2030, will be eligible for grants of up to $5,000.

Mayor Norm Brennan said the Community Grants Program empowers the community to develop ideas, projects, activities and events that contribute to the vibrancy and well-being of the community.

“Council is always keen to support projects that support youth development, protection of our environment, arts and cultural activities, events that have the capacity to grow, sporting and recreational activities and other community-based projects,” Cr Brennan said.

“If you have a project that encourages wide participation in an event or community project and fosters community partnerships, or creates a sense of cultural pride, or one that stimulates economic growth, be sure to apply,” he said.

“I encourage community groups to plan their grant application early.

"
Read the guidelines, plan your project, and importantly speak with a council officer about your application to ensure it meets the guidelines to give it every chance of success.”

Cr Brennan said community organisations that have a project in mind should download the Application Form(PDF, 443KB) from Council’s website.

Applications for grants under this year’s program close on Friday 17 August 2018 at 5.00pm.
