Deniliquin’s hydro pool remains closed despite best efforts of Edward River Council to source replacement parts for the pool’s heater.

General Manager Phil Stone said a spare pool heater was installed at the hydro pool when problems with the main heater were identified but unfortunately, the back up heater is now unserviceable too.

“We have been advised spare parts for the unit are no longer available and are now seeking other alternatives. The unit has been freighted to Melbourne for attempted repair, however due to Covid, this seemingly simple task has taken two weeks alone,” Mr. Stone said.

“Whilst we wait for advice from the heater manufacturer, we are also attempting to source a new heater. Again this task is being complicated and delayed by Covid due to a backlog of orders.”

Mr. Stone said whilst the closure of the hydro pool is a considerable inconvenience to local users, Council is doing all possible to replace the heater.

“With border closures and delays in manufacturing, what would ordinarily be a ‘quick fix’ is proving otherwise and we do apologise to the pool users for any inconvenience caused.”
