New GM arrives in Deniliquin

Edward River Council’s new general manager Phil Stone has arrived in Deniliquin after finally being granted a NSW border entry permit.
“I am relieved and really looking forward to moving into the Deni community and working in the office rather than remotely as I have been,” Mr. Stone said.
The new GM is required to self-isolate at home in Deniliquin for 14 days from his arrival.
“It has been a lengthy process but I have enjoyed getting to know the team virtually via Zoom etc. As many of us now know, working from home does have some advantages but it’s not ideal!”
Mr. Stone has already attended two Council meetings remotely and had a full schedule of meetings with Council’s executive team daily since starting the role.
“I have identified a number of priorities and improvements we as a Council can make and look forward to meeting the community in a fortnight.”
