Economic Development and Grants Officer (Fixed Term)
Edward River Council is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Economic Development and Grants Officer to support the delivery of strategic economic development initiatives and maximise external funding opportunities for our community. In this diverse and rewarding role, you will help drive economic growth, coordinate grant programs, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to projects that deliver lasting benefits across the Edward River region.

As part of our Community & Economy team, you will play an important role in securing funding, supporting strategic projects, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the Edward River region.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage Council's external grant funding program.
Identify, prepare, submit, and monitor grant applications and funding opportunities.
Support the development and implementation of Council's grants strategy and grant management framework.
Assist with the delivery of economic development initiatives, strategies, and priority projects.
Undertake research, data collection, and analysis to support economic development outcomes.
Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, local businesses, and community groups.
Coordinate Council's annual Community Grants Program and Quick Response Grants Program.
Prepare reports, briefing papers, business cases, funding submissions, and acquittals.
Work collaboratively across Council to ensure projects are grant-ready and strategically aligned.
Maintain grant registers and reporting systems to ensure compliance with funding requirements
What You Will Bring:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or experience relevant to the role.
Demonstrated experience preparing, submitting, and managing grant funding applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report and submission writing.
Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with government and private sector stakeholders.
Knowledge of State and Commonwealth funding programs.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Current Driver Licence.
