Water Treatment Plant Operator
Edward River Council is seeking a reliable and safety focused Water Treatment Plant Operator to support the operation and maintenance of our water treatment infrastructure. This hands on role is essential in ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality drinking water to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake daily maintenance, checking and operation of all water treatment processes and equipment in accordance with standard Public Works Department procedures.

Complete daily plant performance monitoring records, including flow rates, pH, plant and equipment breakdowns, services together with the relevant action taken.

Operate telemetry and SCADA systems.

Perform routine servicing and maintenance is carried out on all valves, pumps, motors and mechanical and monitoring equipment.

Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the Water Filtration Plant and pumping stations as directed by the Supervisor Water and Sewerage Operations.

Undertake routine maintenance on all buildings, structures, grounds and fences of pumping stations and keep them in a tidy condition, reporting all issues and hazards to Supervisor Water & Sewer Services.

Coordinate resources to achieve compliance with the Drinking Water Management System, including water quality objectives.

Attend work after hours on occasions as required.
What You Will Bring:
-
Certificate for operation of Water Filtration Plants, including the use and maintenance of fluoride dosing systems and equipment.

Contemporary knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of Water Treatment Plants, including materials handling process plant and equipment.

Contemporary knowledge of the Confined Spaces Act and other legislation concerning maintenance and operation of sewage pump stations.

Basic computer and information technology skills.

Well-developed time management skills.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with customers.

Demonstrated ability to undertake duties in a manner consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values.

Ability to work on a roster for overtime and emergency “call out” work.

Current WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).

Working with Children and National Police Check or willingness to obtain
-
Current Driver's License.
