About your new Role:

As the Risk Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation and oversight of our enterprise risk management framework. Reporting to the Manager of Governance, Safety & Risk, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the development and implementation of risk management initiatives.
  • Providing training and development to staff to enhance risk awareness.
  • Identifying and mitigating strategic and operational risks and monitor updates in legislation.
  • Oversight of Council's Insurance Portfolio and Claims Management.
  • Coordinating Business Continuity planning.

 

Do You Have These Key Attributes?

  • Contemporary experience in managing enterprise risk and insurances.
  • Competence of Work Health and Safety principles and practice.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to drive awareness and a culture of risk awareness, developing skills of staff along the journey.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and timely reports, presentations and procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma of Risk Management or similar, or equivalent experience in a comparable role combined with ongoing professional development.
  • Contemporary experience in managing enterprise risk and insurances, including using risk analysis tools.
  • Contemporary knowledge and working understanding of the Australia and international risk management standards.
  • Contemporary experience implementing strategies and plans to deliver service unit objectives within scope and in accordance with policy and processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with all levels of the organisation to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation such as reports, presentations and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop staff consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values – Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Delivery.
  • Demonstrated understanding and competence in contemporary risk management and Work Health and Safety principles and practice.
  • National Police Check or willingness to obtain.

 

Desirable:

  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in Local Government.
