Edward River Council has been working closely with an experienced architecture and design firm, GroupGSA, to develop a Masterplan that will revitalise and modernise Deniliquin’s CBD area.

The Draft Deniliquin Masterplan builds on the outcomes of the Public Space Strategy and aims to improve liveability, functionality and access in Deniliquin. The Masterplan focuses on five key public space precincts: the Deniliquin town centre, riverfront, lagoon system, town entrances and Waring Gardens.

The Draft Deniliquin Masterplan has been adopted for public exhibition and is now available for public viewing here(PDF, 15MB) .

Once adopted, the Masterplan will be delivered in stages to minimise disruption to businesses, with the first stage of work being conducted in Napier Street. Funding has already been secured for this stage and construction is set to commence next year, with the exact dates still to be confirmed.

Later this month, Council, in partnership with GroupGSA consultants, will host a series of walking tours, which will provide members of the public with an opportunity to chat to the designers, ask questions, and visualise the finished product. We will communicate the dates and times of these tours shortly.

Project HQ, located at 42 Napier Street, will also be open from Tuesday, 11 September 2018 until Tuesday, 9 October 2018. We invite you to stop by for a coffee and one of our team members will walk you through the plans.
